Summer
Written by Mike Richards

Hi to all, we have had a busy and fun summer. Summer Camp at Camp Constantin was fun and over 80 merit badges were completed by our fine young men. It was hot and not much rain. Thanks to all the adults that attended. We also had two crew's go to the Bahama's this summer. A great time was had by both crew's. Scenery bar none, snorkling with the abundant variety of fishes, ray's and some shark's, and meeting the locals who were so friendly. A trip everybody should do in their lifetime. Since the first of the year we know have 7 new Eagle Scouts. Kudo's to Matthew, Joseph, John, T.C., Jeffery, Carter And Stephen. We are all very proud of your accomplishment!! ( How How !!) We have quite a few more young men almost to Eagle. We have big plans for the upcoming year. Trips to Ft. Hood, The Battleship Texas and camping to other places are all on our agenda. High gear fun and adventure for our young men. Troop 770 delivers thanks to our dedicated adults!  Mike Richards - Scoutmaster

Canada Canoe Trip
Written by Mike Richards
Wednesday, 09 August 2006
Hi Everyone, this is an Atikokan update from Captain Hook. Our High Adventure canoe trip to Atikokan, Canada was just that, an Adventure!! We canoed over 50 miles, walked through a swamp and made our own portage trails (bushwacking and rock climbing). We also did lots of fishing with some success, camped on 2 beaches and had fresh fish to eat! The scenery didn't change at all , it was awesome everyday!!  We saw many Bald Eagles, too friendly Squirrels, mini bears, toothy Pike, lots of Loons, Leetches and of course a plethera of Mosquito's and Black Fly's. We had our fill of fresh blueberriesand raspberries. All of our young men stepped up to meet the challenge and more!!!  We did a route that no other crew had done. A new route in the Canadian Wilderness, what an accomplishment!!!  It was nice to have a crew that woked together to accomplish their goal. My thanks to Dr. Mike and Carlos for their Wilderness Surgery for my encounter with a treble hook, in the back of my head (ouch). Thanks to our great crew. Adults - Dr. Mike, Carlos and Brenden. Youth - Crew Leader - Greg, Chaplain - Jeffery, Carter, Stevie and Noah.    We Will Be Back, Eh'   Arrrgh Matey!

Camp Constantin-Summer Camp
Written by MARIA ORTIZ

To all Scouts and Scouters who attended summer camp:

Guys, I just wanted to thank you for the best summer camp ever.  As I said before, in the 15+ years that I have been going to summer camp, this one was the best I have ever experienced.  I know it was because of you guys and all of the adult leaders.  Everyone stepped up to the plate and met the mark; even if “they didn’t know” what to do.  I want to personally thank the older guys for helping out the younger ones and being a good mentor to the 1st and 2nd year campers.  Remember guys, just as I told you at our first PLC that you are someone’s hero, and they are looking up to you.  How, do you want one to remember you?  Congrats to our new OA candidate.  I know you will go far.  Stay focused on what is important.  I am very proud of your progress in this last year.  In addition, another congrats goes to the Eagle Patrol for attaining “Honor Patrol” of the week; Kudos to you.  To all the other Patrols, you did an excellent job at keeping your campsites neat and in order. There where some wonderful camp gadgets to be had. I look forward to adding your pict’s in my Camp Gadget Book.

I would like to extend my hand in welcoming back a former Troop 770 Eagle Scout, Brendon, which has signed on to be an Asst. Scoutmaster.  Welcome back Brendon, looking forward to many more years together.  I enjoyed seeing one of our other Eagles out at Camp, Daniel, which was an Asst. Camp Director at Constantin.  Hope to see him around as well.  Scouts, these young men are wonderful mentors to your own Scouting career.  Feel free to ask for their guidance in any capacity.  They have turned into fine young men just as I know you will as well.

Again, thanks for everybody’s hard work, thank you to all the adults for giving of your time to help bridge these young men into manhood, and a big thanks to Carlos for stepping up to act as our Scoutmaster at camp even though he “Didn’t Know!”
